CATHEDRALS, in case you hadn’t heard, is a new indie/electronica group from San Francisco whose debut self-titled EP dropped today. Having stole our hearts with the stirring ballad, “Unbound,” their most recent single “In The Dark” is an edgy, sophisticated, and potent track that is more than worthy as a follow-up to its predecessors. Stream below and purchase the EP via Neon Gold here.
Having recently signed with MS MR‘s label Neon Gold, San Francisco duo Cathedrals are currently in the studio working on their debut EP. Sounding like a fusion of soul pop and electronica, the broody two-piece consists of Brodie Jenkins and Johnny Hwin (of Blackbird Blackbird). Having three singles to their name so far, take a listen to their affectively arranged and lushly layered song “Unbound” below.

Indie pop outfit and Brooklyn-based band HAERTS released their debut album Hemiplegia last fall. Signed to Neon Gold Records, the release is a four-track EP that includes a cut produced by Jean-Philip Grobler of St. Lucia. However, “All The Days” is by far the best track in this blogger’s opinion. Looking forward to seeing it performed live when the group opens for London Grammar at 930 Club on Monday. On another DC-centric note, HAERTS is also headlining at U Street Music Hall May 8. Check out more upcoming tour dates while you sink into the track below.

Combining all the best elements of Scandinavian pop, Mr Little Jeans, aka Norway’s Monica Birkenes has just released a new EP entitled Good Mistake. Describing her music as “pop that dances left of center,” the title track is a simple but sprightly piece of electropop that packs a punch in all the right places. Stream “Good Mistake” below and look out for her debut LP to drop March 25.
Until now the buzz around HAIM, the sister trio from LA had all but escaped my attention. This remix by the London producer Tourist, however, changed that with his tropical twist on their single “The Wire.”
The mix will be part of the Amazon’s UK deluxe edition of the bands forthcoming LP Days Are Gone, out September 30th. Stream below along with the virtually unrecognizable original, which, while not my fave, has an undeniably catchy chorus.

Little is known about the LA trio Sir Sly, and that’s okay by me. I like my music with a side of mystery. Anyway, this indie pop number stands out in a line of their darker, previous efforts — and has been on heavy rotation on my playlist since it was re-released in April. Listen to “Found You Out” below.
