“Howling” is the lush collaboration between emotive Aussie singer Ry Cuming, and German producer Frank Wiedemann of deep-house project Âme. The EP released last month is available on the label Innervisions. Check out the sultry video and entrancing remix below.
Of all the strangers you’re the strangest that I’ve seen
Folk-rock group Lord Huron just released their debut album, Lonesome Dreams today on IAMSOUND. Akin to Fleet Foxes, their gorgeous harmonies are “a joyous collision of Appalachian percussion, calypso guitars and infectious Western melodies.”
Listen to “The Stranger,” and watch the western-themed video of “Time to Run,” complete with Indonesian subtitles below.
Robyn… Then and Now
Real talk — lately I’ve been on a Robyn kick. Although her trilogy EP Body Talk came out in 2010, I seem to hear her everywhere I go these days. And thank goodness, because I’ll admit when the Swedish pop singer released the latest effort I initially dismissed it. Probably because I was nostalgic for 90’s circa Show-Me-Love Robyn.
Listening with fresh ears, however – and a dance floor beneath me – has given me new perspective and made me seen the error of my ways. I defy you to listen to any of these electropop gems without breaking into dance.
And a bonus Avicii remix of “Hang With Me”:
Years & Years – I Wish I Knew
This song by new pop sensation Years & Years from the UK perfectly sums up my Saturday night (which actually did end up in some fights). Earmilk calls it “life-affirming” pop, and I concur.
My nights always begin with some lies.Always end up in hope.
Electric Guest – Ritual Union (Little Dragon Cover)
Loving this Electric Guest cover of Little Dragon’s “Ritual Union.” Looking forward to seeing the pop duo in DC next month.
Love is not like they say
A lie, that’s hard to make it stay
I drowned my feelings in the sea
They dried out over on the beach
Somebody that I used to know
This video is ridiculously cool. Also, I’m not familiar with the artist Kimbra but she sounds like and kind of resembles Katy Perry, no?
Yeasayer – ONE
Psychedelic video of Yeasayer’s O.N.E.
Hold me like before
Hold me like you used to
Control me like you used to
