Jagwar Ma – Man I Need

jagwar ma

Noel Gallagher has declared himself a fan of Jagwar Ma — the dance rock duo whose music he deemed more important than an Oasis reformation. And no wonder — the Aussie’s debut album, Howlin’ is replete with energy, synths and chemistry. On the album track “Man I Need,” Gabriel Winterfield’s vocals and the structure of the riffs seem to roll along in unison with one another. Stream the single, along with Andy Buchan’s free edit below.

Note: It was just announced that Jagwar Ma will be performing at Coachella this year!

Clubfeet – Cape Town (Panama Remix)

clubfeet

Electronic group from Down Under, Panama recently released this remix of Clubfeet’s “Cape Town,” rendering an average synth-pop track from their fellow Aussies into a torrid tropical affair. Infusing the disco number with piano, percussion, and a sick bassline, Panama stirs up a potent combination of chilled out, calypso-laden bliss.

Transport yourself to Cape Town and grab the track GRATIS below.

“everybody buy me a drink, it’s my birthday”

And another one of my favorites from Panama – “It’s Not Over.”

RÜFÜS – Desert Night

RUFUS_YourEDM

Get your Saturday night started off right with RÜFÜS, a new three-piece from Australia. The second single off their upcoming debut album, ATLAS, “Desert Night” is a deliciously textured and irresistible house number. Reaching #1 on the HypeM charts a week ago, house lovers everywhere can look forward to the album dropping August 9th.

Atlas Genius – Trojans

atlas genius

Australia is constantly churning out great indie groups, and Atlas Genius is no exception. They released their debut LP When It Was Now a couple months back, and just last week put out a cover of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” that elevates the original. (Truth be told, I’m not a huge fan of the original, but I dig their acoustic rendition. Hoping DP has more to offer on their new album that releases next week).

If you’re not already familiar, sample the group’s genius with the infectious tracks “Trojans” and “Symptoms” below.

Bumblebeez – Next To You

Screen shot 2012-12-17 at 6.57.29 PM

Perusing the music blogs this weekend, stumbled upon this retro pop ditty over at EMPT. Don’t know much about the Australian outfit Bumblebeez, but they are sure to catch lots of buzz as the featured track of the latest Lacoste ad with their song “Next To You.”

The actual video is a montage of romantic scenes from classic films like the one above (which, I’m a sucker for as we’ve established). Listen and languish in the sweet vibes of this irresistible tune below.

I don’t know what it is you’ve done to me,
but it feels so fresh just like a summer breeze.
Now I just know I want you close to me.

I just want to be next to you
I just want to be good to you.

I just want to be.
