James Vincent McMorrow – How To Waste A Moment

howtowasteamoment

Veering from his usual tender, airy alt-folk fare, James Vincent McMorrow has shared a new song that steers towards a more tense and serpentine electronic sound. While the Irish singer-songwriter doesn’t have plans to include it in a record at this time, he chose to release the mesmerizing single as a one-off, as the thought of wasted moments was apparently plaguing him when he wrote it. He notes on his Soundcloud page: “I recorded it with tempo because life to me is tempo, it’s rarely slow. This song is the connect from where I was, to where I’m going to be very soon.”

We can’t wait to see where that will be. In the meantime — stream “How To Waste A Moment,” along with the softer yet still exquisite effort “Red Dust” off McMorrow’s 2014 LP Post Tropical below.

Young Wonder – Enchanted

Young Wonder

In honor of St. Paddy’s, we implore you to listen to the new gem from Ireland’s own electropop duo, Young Wonder. The Irish act first made a splash on the scene in 2012 with their self-titled debut EP, followed by their Show Your Teeth EP in 2013. Now, the duo comprised of Ian Ring and Rachel Koeman have offered up their new track “Enchanted,” which shows off their shimmering, astral production skills and bewitching Bjork-esque vocals, respectively. Expect a full-length album reveal from these two later this year.

Ellie Goulding – How Long Will I Love You (EMBRZ Remix)

EMBRZ

Jack Casey — or EMBRZ as he is known — is a young producer out of Ireland who demonstrates his potential on this Cyril Hahn-esque arrangement of Ellie Goulding‘s “How Love Will I Love You.” While the original is a bit of a sleeper (sorry, Ellie!), the downtempo adaptation is a staggering and affective ballad.
