Grizzly Bear – Will Calls (Diplo Remix)

diplo2

Even if remixes aren’t generally your thing, you’re going to want to listen to this one. Diplo has reworked Grizzly Bear’s Shields B-side track “Will Calls” into a chilling (and thrilling) bass-filled event — retaining the merits of the original by keeping Ed Droste’s heartfelt vocals at the forefront. Check out this dynamic derivative below and follow the link to Soundcloud for a free download.

Ellie Goulding – How Long Will I Love You (EMBRZ Remix)

EMBRZ

Jack Casey — or EMBRZ as he is known — is a young producer out of Ireland who demonstrates his potential on this Cyril Hahn-esque arrangement of Ellie Goulding‘s “How Love Will I Love You.” While the original is a bit of a sleeper (sorry, Ellie!), the downtempo adaptation is a staggering and affective ballad.

John Legend – All of Me (De Hofnar Bootleg)

johnlegend

Dutch producer De Hofnar has transformed John Legend‘s somewhat blasé ballad, “All Of Me” from JL’s latest album Love In The Future into a spectacular, sax-filled affair. The saxophone is truly an essential ingredient here. Stream and pick up a FREE download by following the link below.

London Grammar – Nightcall (Joe Goddard Remix)

lgnightcall

Although I had heard the London Grammar cover of Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” before seeing their show in October, it had failed to hold the same allure as the rest of their music. That all changed however hearing the downtempo track performed live, from the powerful pipes of Hannah Reid herself.

The original cover is a slow-to-build ballad, but Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard has rendered a captivating reinterpretation with the addition of drum and bass. The single will be out December 8th — but you can pre-order it here.

Tegan and Sara – “I Was A Fool” (Monsieur Adi remix)

foolforlove

While Tegan and Sara‘s latest album, Heartthrob may not have caught my attention at the time of its release earlier this year, this Monsieur Adi makeover of their track “I Was A Fool” certainly did. The Parisian producer turns the simple track into an 80’s pop ballad with its four-to-the-floor beat — and a synth chord that reminds me a little of this Boy Meets Girl gem.

BANKS – Change (The Chainsmokers Hot & Steamy Edit)

chainsmokers

Hot off the press is this ‘steamy’ new edit of BANKS’ track “Change” by The Chainsmokers. I can’t get enough of BANKS lately so it’s nice to hear another take on the track from the the NY-based producers. Pick up a FREE download by liking their page and check out the BANKS original below.

If you’re in NYC, catch the duo spinning at Webster Hall TONIGHT!

Tom Odell – Another Love (Zwette Edit)

TOM ODELL

German house producer Zwette has reworked a track by Tom Odell, the sensitive singer-songwriter and pianist from the UK who won Critics Choice at the Brit Awards earlier this year.

While the original, “Another Love,” can be found on Odell’s debut studio album Long Way Down, take a listen to this emotive edit that serves as the perfect blend between electronica and wistful piano-driven pop.

BANKS – Warm Water // Waiting Game

banksfiggy-original

BANKS, the LA-based chanteuse has garnered a lot of attention in the music scene this year for her sultry R&B-inflected sound. The groovy beats on her track “Warm Water” — produced by none other than TEED — get turned up a notch in this house remix by producer Figgy below. Be sure to pick up the free download here, then check out the devastating SOHN-produced track “Waiting Game” — released on her EP London last month.
