Bombay Bicycle Club – Carry Me

bombay_bicycle_club_carry_me-620x330

Bombay Bicycle Club is gearing up to release their fourth studio album (untitled as of yet), via Island Records in February 2014. In anticipation of the LP, the London quartet have released the first cut “Carry Me,” along with this accompanying cutting-edge interactive video.

Personally I love me some BBC, and I dig this release so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. Stream “Carry Me” via Spotify below, along with a rad Tanlines remix of their track “Dust On the Ground.”

Andrew Bird – Pulaski at Night

andrew bird

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for the brilliant artistry and musical genius of Andrew Bird. On November 12th he released new EP I Want to See Pulaski at Night, which is primarily instrumental save for the title track. Pitchfork describes “Pulaski at Night” as Bird at his best: “tightly crafted, lyrically witty, understated yet sophisticated” – and “stalwartly Romantic.” True, true.

A. Bird has a handful of tour dates coming up in December listed below, including a stop in Brooklyn. And how they’re not already sold out, I don’t know.

Half empty, half full
Cup runneth over
Horns of plenty, coffers full
We’re starting over

Grizzly Bear – Will Calls (Diplo Remix)

diplo2

Even if remixes aren’t generally your thing, you’re going to want to listen to this one. Diplo has reworked Grizzly Bear’s Shields B-side track “Will Calls” into a chilling (and thrilling) bass-filled event — retaining the merits of the original by keeping Ed Droste’s heartfelt vocals at the forefront. Check out this dynamic derivative below and follow the link to Soundcloud for a free download.

Delorean – Destitute Time (Slow Magic Remix)

Ellie Goulding – How Long Will I Love You (EMBRZ Remix)

EMBRZ

Jack Casey — or EMBRZ as he is known — is a young producer out of Ireland who demonstrates his potential on this Cyril Hahn-esque arrangement of Ellie Goulding‘s “How Love Will I Love You.” While the original is a bit of a sleeper (sorry, Ellie!), the downtempo adaptation is a staggering and affective ballad.

Baio – Sunburn Modern

baio

There’s nothing I like more than the tropical goodness of a balearic tune, and this track by Vampire Weekend’s bassist Chris Baio fits the bill. The Greco-Roman release “Sunburn Modern” can be found on his 2012 EP Sunburn, the vibe of which Baio has described as “hopeful melancholy.” See if you agree by streaming the beat below.
